Kathryn Matthews

Kathryn studied at the Deva Art School in Holland before going on to obtain an Honours Degree in Visual Art from De Montfort University / Rotterdam Art Academy. After a short spell of working as an archaeological illustrator in Spain she returned to England where she has since been painting full-time from her seafront studio.

Kathryn draws inspiration from her extensive travels, from which she uses a collaboration of sketches, photos and memory to produce paintings in oil on board back home at the studio. Kathryn is currently working on a collection of paintings of British fishing ports, including Whitby, Mevagissey and the ever-appealing town of St Ives.
