Julia finds that the most seductive quality of crystal is its ability to trap and manipulate light. Form and pure colour combine with light to project the piece beyond its physical boundaries.
The pieces are hand blown in 24% lead crystal in jewel-like colours. The designs are hand drawn then sandblasted into the coloured surface using a masking technique in several layers to achieve varying depths. Designs include flowers, dragonflies, butterflies, and fish.
