Kevin de Choisy |
Kevin attended Harrow School of Art in the mid 1970's under the tutelage of Colin Pearson and Walter Keeler. Between 1978 and 1980 he spent time in New Mexico and Arizona studying Pueblo Indian pottery. He returned to America in 1984 to work as a thrower and designer for the Rowe Pottery works in Wisconsin. Kevin now lives and works in Somerset.
After an essay into porcelain and celadon wares, (for which he won the 1993 Major Annual Award from South West Arts) he has returned to a life long interest in low-fired wares represented here by work inspired by Whieldon and 18th century creamwares.
Kevin de Choisy has recently exhibited in the Victoria and Albert Museum and has featured in various publications and galleries throughout the country.
