I use a number of different working methods to produce various ranges of work. Most of the work that I make is individually designed and one-off. Natural colours and materials feature prominently. These may include exotic woods, amber, precious and semi-precious metals and stones. I enjoy using a number of different materials on each piece to provide interest.
I work with my wife, Dawn, on a range of asymmetrical metal jewellery. In contrast to the wooden jewellery this involves a more fluid process of composition and addition. Textures in the form of stencils are rolled into the metal, which is then soldered to other shapes. Rather than making matching partners, one earring will have a stone attached and the other will have decoration in the form of some brass or copper.
