'Fauna / Flora' 16 February - 31 March 2008 |
Fauna / Flora is a fantastic exhibition of the innovative work of makers inspired by animal forms. The show includes new work by Nick Mackman and the distinctive ceramics of Blandine Anderson. The powerful creatures of Brendan Hesmondhalgh are contrasted with the work of Delyth Jones, which are inspired by images of 18th century livestock portraiture and purity of cave paintings. Jeremy James is nationally known for his representations of British animals and these can be seen alongside Guy Holder characteristic bird forms. We are also delighted to show for the first time the highly expressive work of Virginia Dowe-Edwards. Kathryn O Kell and Stephen Henderson will be showing new wood carvings.
We are also pleased to show the outstanding work of Brighton-based painters who are showing limited edition screen prints. These are original works or art produced in the Artizan screen printing studio in Hove. All the works are produced and signed by the hand of the artist – these are high quality limited edition screen prints – not to be confused with reproductions.
