'Afresh' 12 January - 8 February 2008

To get the New Year off to fresh start gallerytop presents a new exhibition of ceramics by outstanding artists and makers.

Tim Andrews has gained an international reputation for his distinctive smoke-fired and raku ceramics and Kevin De Choisy is a foremost authority on high-fired Oriental glazes.

Claire Conrad’s stoneware pots are distinctive for their painterly exploration of colour and texture while Sun Kim's delicately coloured porcelain reveals a lightness of structure. Ruthanne Tudball and Roger Lewis explore the creative potential of clay, reflecting an energy of making through semi functional and sculptural forms.

Kyoko Takahashi explores the relationship between the surface, shape and volume of her objects, which are seen alongside the fluid forms of Merete Rasmussen, a Danish ceramicist exploring the concept of inner space and curved surfaces.

We are delighted to be showing new paintings by Kristan Baggaley, whose work in the show is from his recent exploration of compositions in a square format. We are also pleased to be showing new paintings by Jenny Grevatte. There is new work by Hazel Lale and textiles by Sally Weatherill, both of whom have an exuberant passion for colour.
