BREATH OF LIFE  October 2010

We have a fabulous exhibition starting next Saturday at 11.00 called 'Breath of Life' which is part of the British Heart Foundation 'Mending Broken Hearts' art appeal. The work in the show is very exclusive and the reason for the show is very important - important enough to touch everyone of us. It is a volume of 15 prints by prominent British artists who have given their time and talent to support the British Heart Foundation to raise £50 million. This is spectacular work and will only appear at three venues outside of London - including gallerytop.

We strongly believe in the positive relationship between art and health and with good reason. We recently donated the proceeds of an auction to the Helen’s trust, presenting a cheque to Dr Louise Jordan and the Duke of Devonshire.
(visit www.helenstrust.org.uk for details) Gill Wilson, one of the directors of gallerytop, is also an artist and has recently been involved in designing a glass wall piece for a hospital MRI scanner unit.

However, a major motivation is that a family member had a heart attack earlier this year, when the British Heart Foundation became more than just name. The quality of ongoing support and care the BHF has provided has been invaluable and without it their recovery would have been much more difficult. Ongoing visits give reassurance and consistent professional advice and guidance.

Our fundamental aim at gallerytop is searching the UK for the best possible contemporary art available in painting, prints, ceramics, glass and jewellery. We have worked with the CCA galleries for many years and recognise the international profile of the artists they publish, including Sir Peter Blake, John Hoyland RA and Barbara Rae RA. We also recognise the very significant investment potential in collecting these artists’ prints. We are genuinely delighted to support the British Heart Foundation fundraising event ‘Mending Broken Hearts’ and are particularly pleased to be showing the ‘Breath of Life’ edition of artists prints.

You are cordially invited to join us on
Saturday 9 October 2010 from 11.00am.
Between 4.00pm and 8.00pm there will be a champagne celebration of the exhibition and all it stands for.

We look forward to seeing you in the gallery
